Free Sunriver WiFi Hotspot is (Officially) Live
I actually mentioned this earlier as kind of a side note, but I wanted to make sure things were running smoothly for a couple weeks before I dedicated a complete entry to it (and yes I do hope people search and find this entry, as getting listed on Jwire seems to be impossible). But there is now a free wireless hotspot setup in Sunriver. Obviously the thing doesn't cover all over Sunriver, but it covers a good bit of the Sunriver Village Mall. The wireless access point is free to use and setup based on the comments I got from this post.
I didn't release information about it until yet (at least in a dedicated entry) because we were having issues with it, but those have all been worked out (assuming Unicom doesn't kill the DSL line again). You can check the status page with more information about the hot spot here, but if you're in the Sunriver Village Mall at all (like maybe listening to some free music), you're welcome to hop on and use it.

Dave Goodman said on 11/17/10 @ 04:28 PM: Is there still free wifi? The last few times I've tried I couldn't see any open hotspots.
Jake said on 11/17/10 @ 04:30 PM: There is, it's being broadcast from the same spot as it always has been (in the courtyard near the VBAG). I just connected to it the other day. It's going to probably have to be moved at some point once construction on the building starts.

What are you doing down here? Don't you have something better to do? Like Go Back To The Top of the page, or even see who created this site? This site is © 2001 - 2012 by the Utterly Boring folks at UtterlyBoring.com. Steal my content, as I probably did, too, just link to my site or the original site. Batteries not included. One size fits all. Not for off-road use. Not for internal use. Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball.
