Experimenting With Ads

Don't mind me, I'm experimenting with some ad formats from FastClick. There will be a small one appearing on the upper right of this page and one at the bottom.

If you see a problem with these ads, please let me know, I'm just trying to find a way to make a few bucks on this site to support hosting fees, etc... . If you find them intrusive, let me know!

And no, I'm not selling out, I just figured if I could make a few bucks on this, I could convince the wife to let me spend more time doing it, so click away, folks!

As they are now, they don't bother me a bit. You deserve to make a buck or two from the work you put into this site.

Thanks, Val. I'm not ever going to bombard this site with ads, but I did possible want to make a buck or two. These are the first graphical ads I'm putting "above the fold" (I've had a couple on here before, but they were buried). That one on the upper right will probably be the only one that ever makes it up there, as it's already distracting enough.

In other words, this is probably the worst it'll get, as any more will just be obnoxious (no skyscraper flash ads for me).

Ads? What ads? Sorry, I block images from certain ad-related servers. Though I suppose it does mean I can do a kind of 'ad roulette' where I click on a mystery blank advert and see where I end up...

That might be a fun game to play, Neil: Turn off all images and just start clicking on images to see where it takes you. My guess is that within 9 clicks you'll end up at classmates.com.
